Louisiana fleets: V100 and Act 19 requirements
Louisiana Act 19 (HB 549) takes effect January 1, 2026. The law requires commercial-auto insurers in Louisiana to discount the liability portion of fleet premiums for power units running an approved dash cam paired with telematics.
To qualify, the dash cam must record at 1080p or higher, run on a continuous loop, and integrate with a telematics device that feeds speed, braking, and mileage data on demand.

Is the V100 really free, and what will I pay?
Yes. TrackNet provides the V100 hardware at no cost when you start a TrackNet Cloud subscription. You pay $34.95 per camera per month plus a one-time $25 activation fee per camera, which covers the $10 SIM card and the $15 carrier activation. There is no upfront hardware cost and no hidden hardware lease.
The same rate applies whether you have one vehicle or one hundred.
There is a 12-month minimum subscription term. After the first year, your account automatically converts to month-to-month with no cancellation fee. You keep the hardware. TrackNet is selling the subscription — the camera is included.
Is there a long-term contract?
The initial term is 12 months. After that, your subscription is month-to-month and you can cancel at any time with no fee.
Is this offer available to individuals or personal vehicles?
No. The Free V100 promotion is for commercial fleet use only. It is not offered for individual consumer or personal vehicle use.
What vehicles do the V100 fit?
Any commercial vehicle operated for business use in the United States, Canada, or Mexico — light-duty vans, sedans, and pickups through heavy-duty work trucks and tractors. There is no fleet-size minimum.
How is the V100 installed?
The V100 plugs directly into the vehicle’s OBD port. No tools, no wiring, and no professional installation. A driver or fleet manager can install it in under a minute.
What does the V100 record? Is there a cabin-facing camera?
1080p forward-facing video on a continuous loop. The camera also triggers automatic 20-second event clips for hard braking, sharp turns, sudden acceleration, and geofence enter/exit. Every clip is time-stamped and tagged with GPS coordinates.
The V100 is road-facing only. Forward-facing video meets the requirements of most fleet safety programs, most insurance carriers, and the Louisiana Act 19 statute.
How long is my video and tracking data stored?
Cloud video retention is three months. GPS tracking data is retained for one year. Onboard storage holds 64GB by default and supports microSD cards up to 128GB.
Can I see live video from the camera?
Yes. Live streaming is available from inside the TrackNet Cloud platform on web, mobile, and tablet.
Is there a hardware warranty?
Yes. The V100 carries a two-year hardware warranty.

What happens if one of my fleet vehicles is stolen?
TrackNet Cloud’s Guard Mode automatically notifies you when a monitored vehicle moves outside its designated area, helping you alert law enforcement and recover the vehicle quickly.
Where does the V100 work geographically?
The V100’s 4G LTE data plan covers the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Coverage outside North America is not currently supported.
